Lynn Rees Obituary

Rees Lynn Jones Rees, age 68, of Columbus and formerly of Gallipolis, passed away on Thursday September 17, 2015 at home. Born July 3, 1947 in Oak Hill, Ohio. Lynn was the daughter of the late Benson and Maxine Williams Jones. Lynn is survived by her husband, Roger Rees who she married on May 2, 1965 in Thurman, Ohio. Besides her husband, she is survived by her sons, Tim (Deanna) Rees of Virginia Beach, VA., and Dan (Laura) Rees of Granville; a brother, Bob Jones of Fairborn; and a sister, Becky (Jim) Dailey of Hilliard. She is also survived by her greatest joys in life, her grandchildren, Nate Rees, Logan Rees, Daniel Rees, and Lillian Rees. Lynn was a graduate of the University of Rio Grande and the University of Dayton. She was a teacher in the Oak Hill Union Local Schools and the Gallipolis City Schools. She was a Martha Holden Jennings Scholar; member of the Gallia County Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Northwest Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Upper Arlington. A celebration of Lynn's life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Northwest Christian Church, 1340 Fishinger Road, Columbus, OH. 43221. Donations in Lynn's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice. WAUGH-HALLEY-WOOD FUNERAL HOME in Gallipolis is assisting the family.
