JOE AND FAMILY, MAY YOU FIND PEACE IN THE KNOWLEDGE THAT MARILYN IS IN HEAVEN AND WATCHING OVER YOU. JOE AND I HAVE TALKED ABOUT HER SO MANY TIMES AND WHAT A WONDERFUL WIFE AND FRIEND SHE WAS. GOD BE WITH JOE AND THE FAMILIES AS THEY TRY TO UNDERSTAND HER SUDDEN DEATH. WHAT A WONDERFUL GIFT SHE WAS TO SO MANY.

Marilyn was so welcoming and down to earth. Her sense of humor made every day of work at the Schoenbaum Family Center Lab School in Columbus an adventure as she built our community and served as the glue that held us together. I will miss her smile and kind words.

I have known Mae Mae since she started in the Department, and worked with her side-by-side in the main office. She was always helpful to anyone who came in--she was a talker! I can't tell you how much I am going to miss her; we always made plans to meet up for lunch or dinner, and the time never seemed to fit our schedules. I wish we had more time.... My heart is aching for you Joe; she was your truest love. May God comfort you and the Penner family, God bless you.

Marilyn was a rare and precious gem God shared with us for a brief time. Her poised, gentle spirit faithfully ministered the care and kindness of her Savior to all. Although we are saddened now by her passing, we look forward to that eternal reunion when we'll see her again. Continuing to pray for God's abiding comfort to the Brune and Penner families.
We love you,

I remember Marilyn as a young lady who loved and cared for her friends unconditionally. There was no pretense. She was my friend and accepted me as I was...immature flaws and all. We lift her family up in prayers from Germany. George Youstra, USAF Chaplain, BjA Class of 1978

Marilyn, I can't tell you how much you are going to be missed. My wife, Kristen, is your dear friend and fellow employee at the Lab School. I only had the privilege to meet you a couple of times, but I immediately knew why my wife loved you as person. You kindness and joy was contagious just from the few times we met. Kristen always tells me how our daughter Reagan loved seeing you in the mornings when they got to work. You touched lives young and old will be truly missed.
