Mark Federer Obituary

Federer, Mark
1956 - 2021
Mark Anthony Federer, age 65, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021. Mark lived each day to the fullest and loved - and was loved by - the many, many friends and family who filled his life. He was a good man who went out of his way to help others. Mark is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jane (Brauner) Federer. They have two children, Matthew Paul (19) and Anne Marie (17) Federer. Mark was preceded in death by his mother Joanne (Navin) Federer (1973), and father John W. "Jack" Federer (2015). Mark was raised in a large, loving extended family and is survived by brothers, Steve (Sandy), Joe (Kathy), and John (Julie) Federer; and sister, Annette (Tom) McDaniel; Birmingham siblings, Bob (Patty) Hanna and Susan (Maxie) Hall; many nieces and nephews whom he loved as if they were his own children; cousins from the Navin, Jones, Mogavero and Gates families; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, John (Shannon) Brauner, Carolyn (Russell) Mahy, Liz (Greg) Groves, and Barbara Stickler. Following his heart attack two years ago and subsequent complications, Mark chose to spend what energy and time he had focusing on his health and his immediate family. He considered each additional day with Jane, Matthew and Anne a gift and he never lost his positive attitude, sense of humor, or quick wit. Mark was grateful he had lived such a full life and enjoyed recalling past adventures and special occasions with the many, many dear friends and family who had crossed his path and enriched his life. Mark was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Columbus, Ohio, Father Ryan M. Schmit, Pastor. Mark was laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery where a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Father Dwayne A. McNew at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel. I’m so saddened to hear the news of Mark’s passing. I will never forget his love for other people and laughter that lit up the room. I will always keep my memories of the Lake hose close to me!

I was so sorry to hear Mark had passed. He was a really good friend and person. I hadn't seen him in several years but will always think fondly of him and his friendship. He will be sadly missed.

I knew Mark through work which led me to know Mark on the golf course. I always enjoyed Mark and his approachable demeaner.

God Bless
