Dr. Kaplan accepted me into Kent State University's school psychology program in the 1970s, a time when I was age 25 and quite uncertain about my life. He offered me much guidance in goal-setting and in finding happiness. I retired after 35 years as a practicing school psychologist, adjunct professor in education (BGSU), and as a successful author of three novels. Now, at age 73, I'm enjoying my retirement and am still writing novels. The support and encouragement Dr. Kaplan gave to me, 48 years ago, helped me immensely to become who I am today. RIP, my friend.

Marvin was class guy and will be missed. He helped get me into the School Psychology program at Kent State University, which helped this Vietnam veteran get a career and life. It's sad to see good people leave us behind, there are not enough of them!
