Mary Decker Obituary

DECKER Mary A. Decker, 88, of Westerville, passed away Friday, February 11, 2011, at the Kobacker House. She was born September 21, 1922, in Columbus, daughter of the late Frank and Martha Smetz. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband A. Cameron Decker, brother Francis Smetz, and sister Cecilia Hedlund. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Peter) Engel and Susan (Brian) Latta; son, Michael (Marla) Decker; grandchildren, Kevin (Katie) Decker, Mark, Ryan and Matthew Latta, Lauren and Grace Decker; great-grandson, Aaren Decker; and nieces; and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME NE CHAPEL, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 6077 Sharon Woods Blvd. Columbus. Interment will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Andrew Grainger and the staffs at the Kobacker House and HomeReach Hospice. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kobacker House, c/o OhioHealth Foundation, 180 E. Broad St., Fl 31, Columbus, OH 43215.
