Collart Family,
I was utterly shocked to hear of Mike's passing. I have only known him since last July, but he was one of the happiest men I've ever known. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. His positive attitude will be missed at ODH. I know his family meant the world to him and he was extremely proud of all of you. God bless.

I first met Mike a few years ago at a Cheap Trick concert. Mike was an Ohio State graduate. The concert was in Owensboro, KY, the same weekend as the Ohio State/Michigan football game. He missed the game to attend the concert with Wendy. Right away I knew he was a good man and a loving husband.
God does these things for a reason. Our purpose here is to continue living life, trying to determine at some future point what the reason is. Hang in there!

Wendy, Paul and Stephanie:
I am shocked and saddened by Mike's passing and you all have my sympathy. Mike's family meant everything to him and I often heard tales of all your adventures. I am so glad that I had the chance to talk with Mike just days before his passing. He was a kind and generous person and he will not be forgotten here at ODH.

I did not know Mike well, however he always said "hello" when I passed him in the hallway at 35. E. Chestnut building (ODH). I passed by his cubicle frequently, and saw some beautiful family pictures prominently displayed. I met Mike when I particpated in a fundraising event for his son's high school marching band. It was quite evident that he was very proud of his two children. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that many people are praying for your family - surrounding you all in prayer at this time of need.

I am saddened to hear that Mike has passed away. I have known and worked with Mike for many years, especially in the rabies and West Nile virus programs out of the ODH. He was always a very conscientious and helpful colleague, and I will miss him. May God grant you the grace to make it through this very difficult time.

It was not my priviledge to know Mike well, but every time I saw him I was impressed with his pleasant and friendly manner. He inspired me indirectly to try to be more like that myself. I've missed seeing him at 35 E. Chestnut. Heartfelt sympathy to family and friends. I am saddened by Mike's passing, but grateful for having the chance to meet him and get a lesson on being a better human being.
