Michael Flaherty Obituary
1953 - 2020
Michael Francis Flaherty, age 67, passed away December 8, 2020 after a long struggle with health issues. He was born August 14, 1953, in Cleveland, Ohio, the sixth son of Nora Corrigan Flaherty and Patrick Aloysis Flaherty. After graduating from Cathedral Latin High School in 1971 he moved to Columbus and graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1975. He was retired from American Electric Power. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Patrick and Brian. Surviving are brothers, Dennis, Kevin (Ann) of Columbus and Thomas (Robin) of Asheville, NC; nephews, Brendan (Mica), Shawn, Daniel (Jean), Trevor; and niece, Eileen (Joe) Bline, all of Columbus. Also survived by grandnephews, Joseph and Jack Flaherty, Steven and Aaron Bline and Dylan Flaherty; grandnieces, Emily Flaherty, Lauren Bline and Morgan Flaherty. Funeral arrangements by Egan Ryan Funeral Home with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 414 E. North Broadway, Columbus, OH 43214 on Tuesday at 10am with Burial at Resurrection Cemetery immediately following by EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME NORTHWEST CHAPEL. The family would like to thank the staff at The Forum at Knightsbridge for the excellent care Michael received In the last several years.

I met Michael while working at the Forum as a poll worker. I don't remember many voters but Michael was memorable. He voted in every election and was dedicated to exercising his voting responsibilities despite his health challenges. We did our best to make voting easier for Michael, and he always expressed his appreciation for even the smallest accommodation. I am sorry he is no longer with us.

I worked with Mike for about 44years when we were located in Lancaster. I remember Mike as a somewhat timid and a gentle soul. RIP Mike.

Michael was always so appreciative for anything you did for him. He would always say "you're an angel." Now God has his newest angel. Rest in peace Michael. Prayers for all the family.
