Dear Mr. and Mrs. Hinerman, I'm so saddened and sorry to learn of your loss. I was the House Director when Mike lived in the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity house at BGSU; and later I knew him as the fraternity chapter advisor. Mike was a wonderful guy and I enjoyed his visit to New York for several days in 2001 when he and a friend were looking at law schools in New York City and then in Boston. If you are able to drop me an e-mail with your phone number I'd like to call you in a few weeks when things settle down for you a bit. I'm living in the Middle East now (Doha, Qatar) but can easily call via the internet and would like to do so. In any case, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear about Michael. I cannot tell you how absolutely stunned I was today when my Dad called and told me the news. Please know that you guys have, and always will hold a special place in my heart; growing up Michael was one of my best and closest friends. I have so many wonderful memories filled with all of your laughter. I am so sorry I will not be able to be there on Friday, for I currently work in New York. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Wayne and Charlie, Darrick and I are so sorry for your loss. We never know how long our time here is. The only thing we can do is love each other as much as we can for as long as we can.
