Missy, I just learned today of Mike's passing and cannot express how sorry I am for you and the children.
I lost my husband of 40 years in April and know too well how hard this is. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
May God bless you, protect you, and love you always.

To Mike,
Mike I only knew you for a short time, the times I was around you, and my brother Ti, you loved me just like a little brother. The stuff I learned about you, and from you will always live on. I hope that I am half the man you were to your family. I can only hope I do as good as you did as a father and as a husband. Your smile and your kindness will always live on. Thanks Mike. Hey give God a fist bump for me.

Mike G',

I was a kid when I met you, yet you always made me feel like an equal. I've always had so much respect for you. I could ask you anything, no matter what you thought, you'd give me an honest response. The world needs more people like you. I admired your spirit and your ability to find the best in people.

You've left a lasting impression on far more people than you will ever know. You will never be forgotten.

Keep it real up there, Mike G'!

Mike, What can I say to you? It's funny how you always walk away from a situation and think of the things you could've / should've said. I guess it's the same here, huh bud. Why is it easier now to find the words that I've been trying to convey to you over the past few years. Mike, I respect you. Even though you were just a kid yourself you practically took me in at every turn. You shared openly with me your kind and warm heart. as I grew I never stopped learning from you. You were the first man I had ever seen really trying to live a God centered life and all that that intales. You taught me that a man could be humble and still live a life to be proud of. Through you I saw what it looked like to to give, unconditionally, in every way. You weren't perfect, but you never let that stop you from trying to do what you thought was right, just, and fair. You were honest, such a rare trait in people these days. You always sought out the best in people, and would take what ever you found and try your hardest to cultivate it and make it grow. You did that for me. You truly valued people. You spent your life loving family , friends, and the stranger on the street. You always chose to see the best in people and give the benefit of the doubt. You were slow to anger and quick to forgive. Always the mediator. I'll take all of that with me forever. I'll miss the arguing over the silliest things like peanut butter and ketchup on turkey. I'll miss the open conversations where we'd each say our piece and walk away wiser for having spoken. I'll miss the laughter and the goofy things you'd say, but most of all I'll miss you. I'm sorry to that I was never able to tell you that to say that you were like a father to me, isn't saying enough. You gave me your love, time, and wisdom. You watched out for me. I am changed for the better for having known you. I thank God for you in my life. I am so proud to call myself your nephew. No amount of pretty words will ever be enough, so let me stop. But I have to say, I love you Mike and I will miss you greatly. I can't wait to see you again one fine morning. I love you man.

I coached little league with Mike's father starting when he was only 8 years old. He was an all-star player, and loved sports, he was a leader that the others looked up too.
I was very saddened to hear about his passing. He was someone that really lived every day to the fullest. While I know that words are only a small gesture of support, I want you to know that his spirit has touched many. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
My deepest sympathy and love to you and yours
