Mildred Riegger Obituary

RIEGGER Mildred Ferguson Riegger was born July 21, 1912 in Columbus, Ohio and passed away three days before her 95th birthday. She was the last member of a family of twelve children born to William and Lena Ferguson. She was married to Howard Riegger who preceded her in death March 15, 1969. Mildred was a life long resident of Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Central High School and began her work career at The Farm Bureau and then moved to a position at Battelle Memorial Institute where she was an executive secretary on "mahogany row". She retired after 32 years of service. Howard and Mildred traveled to Europe many times and to many places in the United States as well. She was a life long member of Broad Street Christian Church and a member for more than 50 years of Pilot Club, a women's professional organization. She also was a member of the Upper Arlington Garden Club. She is survived by three nieces and three nephews. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2007 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12 Noon to 1 p.m. Contributions may be made in Mildred's memory to Children's Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 16810, Columbus, Ohio 43272-5117.

I want to express my sorrow to the family of Mildred Riegger. I would see her a few times a year when the "Riegger" family got together for holidays when I was a child. Uncle Howard was my grandmother's brother.
