Mitchell Pace Obituary

PACE Mitchell E. Pace, age 82, of Westerville, passed away Friday, May 28, 2010 at St. Ann's Hospital. Born November 22, 1927 in Chicago, IL, to the late Elmer and Lucille (Palmer) Pace. A 20 year member of the US Air Force, he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. After earning a Masters Degree in Sociology from the University of Southern California, he worked as a social worker in CA. He moved to Westerville in 1987 working as a social worker until retiring and afterwards as a greeter for Charles Penzone Salons. A 20 year devoted member of Calvary Bible Baptist Church, where he ushered, sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and served as a Boy Scout leader for Troop 812. With a desire to serve his Lord and Savior, he was a people person and friend to all. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 27 years, Lou Raee (Beers) Pike; children, Cathy Ennox, Randolph Pace, John Pace, Donna Bigley; step-daughter, Vicki Gasperetti; seven grandchildren, Lori, Kenneth, Michelle, Christopher, Ryan, Mathew, and Chad; brother, Stanley Pace; sister, Fern Schinder; nieces, nephews; and a host of friends. Preceded in death by sister Lucy Lowry, brothers Bob and Jim, and step-son Michael Pike. Friends may call Tuesday 3-5 p.m. at the Calvary Bible Baptist Church, 119 N. Cleveland Ave., Westerville 43081, where services will follow Tuesday at 5 p.m. with Pastor Matt Keller officiating. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at Blendon Central Cemetery, Westerville. Memorial contributions can be made to Missions Fund at Calvary. Lou,
I was always happy to visit with Mr Pace in the office and was honored that you both picked me to give medical care. I was sorry to hear of his recent passing but although we grieve his loss here, he has gone home and will greet us when we meet him again. You remain in my prayers.
