N. Lee Grantonic

1928 - 2014

Grantonic N. Lee Grantonic, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 8, 2014. Lee was born on November 8, 1928 in New Castle, IN to the late John and Lelia Mae (Payne) Andrews. She was a graduate of The Ohio State University School of Music and attended the University of Cincinnati while working on her master's degree. She taught music at West Jefferson Public Schools while at the same time giving private piano lessons at their home. Lee was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and American Federation of Musicians. She and her husband Joe played in the "Joe Grant Band" together for over 30 years. Lee enjoyed the outdoors, camping, playing golf, traveling to various places across the US. Preceded in death by her brother John R. Andrews Jr., sisters Virginia Andrews and Mary Lou Bettner. Survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph A. "Joe" Grantonic; son, David A. Grantonic; daughter, Gail A. (Aaron) Steiner; grandchildren, Deidre and Derek Grantonic and Grant and Brent Ervin; brother, Jack (Deborah) Andrews; many other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio. Memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2014 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 434 Norton Road, Columbus, OH with Fr. Leo Connolly officiating. Inurnment St. Joseph Cemetery.
