Nancy Broomfield Obituary

BROOMFIELD Nancy Clara Broomfield, 51, held the Lords hand into his rest on April 6, 2007. Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica on July 16, 1955; the daughter of Clinton and Adina Thompson. As a young adult, she left Jamaica and was adopted by Mr. Raymond and Alice Martz, Sr., of Deerfield Beach, Florida and moved to the United States. Nancy was married in 1981 and soon after baptism at the Church of Christ, she was added to the body of Christ. Nancy worked for more than 19 years at Columbus Area Inc. where she served as a Medical Records Technician. She always gave her best and was dedicated to her work, as well as to her co-workers. She became stricken with illness in 2004, but continued to work and visit the sick and shut-in as the Lord requires us all to do. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Dudley Thompson. Loving family who will miss her dearly include her sons, Arthur III (Miranda) Broomfield of Jacksonville, NC and Andre (Valerie) Broomfield of Pensacola, FL; brothers, Owen (Vilma) Thompson of Miami, FL, Roy Thompson and Basford Thompson of Montego Bay, JA, and Raymond (Jennifer) Martz of Cincinnati, OH; sisters, Pearl Thompson, Beverly Candappa, Lynn Service, Avil Hillary, all of Montego Bay, JA, and Kim Starr of Maui, Hawaii; grandchildren, Arianna Drake-Broomfield and Veronica Broomfield; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. Nancy touched the lives of many close friends, who were like family to her. Several of her close friends include Donald Byrd, Claudia Cherry, Barbara Clark, Alice Heigel and Joanne Jefferies, many of whom prayed with Nancy on the eve of her passing. Her warm smile and loving spirit will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Funeral service 1 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Church of Christ, 533 Miller Avenue. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m., in the chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long Street, and at the church on Thursday from 12Noon until the start of service. Arite and Andre: your mother loved the two of you with her heart and soul. She cherished her boys! Your mother was a wonderful lady, she hurt, but never complained. She kept on smiling and sharing laughs. Your mother, Nancy also loved the Lord and has been an inspiration to a lot of individuals. God bless and keep you during this time of loss.
