Dear Larry, Jan, Dawnel, and Family,
I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I was at Christ the King Church with Dawnel, and I was always impressed by how Nathan carried himself as an adolescent. He was always very mature beyond his years. I am praying for Christ to give you peace and comfort in this difficult time.

Gardner family,
I am very saddened by your loss. The neighborhood was blessed to have Nathan around. Several of my childhood memories include Nathan. He was always very funny and caring. I will always remember the tough time he gave me when he had his driver's license before me even though he was a year behind me in school. He was such a great guy and will be truly missed.
You will be in my prayers.

Nate for whatever reason befriended me during my Freshman year of high school. Althought I was younger then him he never let me know it. He was always a nice face to see around the hall ways.
We also worked together at Dairy Queen for a while and I will never forget him blending hot dogs so that he could drink them through a straw. Anything through a straw was free, but I think he did it just to see others laugh and smile.
I am so sorry to hear about his passing. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I knew Nate in high school. We both had learning disabilities and we saw the same tutor at TWHS, Mrs. Beckley. She passed away at a young age by the time we were out of high school. I ran into Nate a couple weeks ago at an OSU hockey game and he told me what he was up to, about his work as a civil engineer... I thought it but didn't say it, Mrs. Beckley would have been so proud to see what he had accomplished. Knowing what he overcame, and in spite of him not living long enough to reach his full potential, his family should be proud too.

Alissa, Candy, and extended family,
Words cannot adequately express the deep feelings that I would like to convey in sympathy with you and your untimely loss. Many times in life seem to defy explanation. Please know you are in many people’s thought and prayers, including Glenda’s and mine. God, too, knows your pain. John 11:35 helped me through my time of great loss.
May you find comfort in the days to come.

Our prayers, are with the Gardner family during this difficult time. I know how hard it is to lose someone you love so much. In 2006 I lost my nephew in an industrial accident, he was gone in a blink of an eye. I could not understand how or why God could have allowed this to happen to such a wonderful and giving person, but I finally realized no one could give me that answer I just had to trust and believe that the Lord would give me and my family the strength to get through it, and He did. It does get better.
I pray with all my heart that the Lord will fill you with peace, love, and strength. Although the physical body is gone the spirit never dies, may you continue to feel your love one's presence in your life. Love, David and Kirby Volzke

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Nathan. Nathan and I were co-workers/friends for a summer while interning at the Delaware County Engineer's Office. It was the best job I have ever had, and Nathan was always a great guy to be around. There wasn't a day went by that we weren't having fun and laughing and joking about something. May God wrap His loving arms around you and comfort you during this unimaginably difficult time.

I was truly shocked and saddened to hear the news. Nathan and I knew each other in high school. Although we only had a few classes together he truly touched my life. He was always smiling and ready with a compliment. He was definately one of the nicest people I remember. To his family, friends and wife, I can't even begin to imagine the sorrow you must feel at this time in your lives and hope that fond memories help ease your pain. I am deeply saddened for your loss, and you are in my prayers.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Coach Alissa Gardner,
You are truely and amazing woman that I strongly look up too. You are a romodle, and the best coach ever. Don't think just because yourself and others as well are going through hard times your letting myself, the girls, other friends and family down, becasue believe me; your not. Yes, I'm a 13 year old girl, but I'm here for you when ever you need a friend. I would never change a thing about you or my basketball team. You keep me going. You going to get through this, i promise !

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Dear Larry, Jan and Family,
We are so very sorry for your loss. We were deeply saddened when we learned of Nathan's passing. I have countless memories of glancing out my kitchen window to see our boys playing soccer or football. I know what a close family you are, and can't even imagine what you are going through at this time. I also know how strong your faith is, and believe that this will help your family to heal in the days ahead. God had a reason for calling Nathan home, and we trust in his plan for each of us. If you need anything at all, please do not hesitate to let us know how we can help. God bless you and yours.

I met and played soccer with Nate at Geneva, and really enjoyed that time of getting to know him. I will never forget that when my wife and I returned to Geneva with our son, for an alumni soccer game, Nate was sitting with us in the football stadium when my son, Noah, said "mommy" for the first time, it was really cool. We weren't really sure if that is what he said, but then Nate turned around and confirmed that he had definitely heard him say the word. I will always have that memory, plus many more. I am incredibly sorry for your loss, and Nate will be greatly missed.
