Dear Marty and Lisa, heard of Nicks' passing when I was in Florida and I am so thankful that I got back in time to attend the funeral mass. The wods of Father Romano were so well said and I hope we will allways think of death in that respect. May all the beautiful memories keep him alive forever. He was a wonderful man with a huge heart. Will never forget when we first moved from the small place to the bigger location and Nick arriving with baskets of tomatoes or the time when you and Lisa got engaged and it was the coldest night of the year. You were eating at the restaurant and our pipes froze at home.......and yes it was you Marty and your dad who came right over to help. Nick coming to see our girls at home dressed as Santa. will never forget it.....he got some much pleasure out of bringing a smile to others....what a wonderful person... and you Marty are so blessed to have the same qualities as your dad. We love you guys and please give our love to the whole family.

Dear Marty and Steve,
I was greatly saddened to hear of your loss. Please accept my deepest sympathy. During my all to brief tenure at Savko and Sons I developed a great respect for Nick. He reminded me a great deal of my own grandfather. May Nick's spirit live on at Savko and Sons. God Bless you and your families.

My heartfelt condolances to the Savko family. I have worked in and around the Columbus area for 40 years and for 40 years the name "Savko" has been at the forefront of the construction industry. Nick based his life and his company on family. What a wonderful role model he has been for so many others.

Dear Gilda, I am so sorry to read of Nick's passing. He was always so friendly to my husband and me, as were you. Hopefully you'll remember us. Nick and Charlie were instrumental in helping to boost my brother-in-law (Jack Kuhn) into the construction business so many years ago. Actually my husband, Tom Kuhn, worked for Nick a couple of weeks when he was home on leave from the Army back in the early 50's. Tom went on to be an electrician and is still telling the story about never having worked so hard in all his life those couple of weeks.
Gilda, my family and I were your neighbors back in the 40's down in Milo. We lived just across the street from your family on Sidney St. My name was Foreman, my mother was Ethel Foreman who later married Bud Fisher. Ethel is the sister to the three Maddix boys, Wayne, Ray and Webb, all deceased. Do you remember?
I can well remember you, your mother, your sisters, and brother as you were just old enough to be dating while I was admiring you girls and hoping I would look half as good when I was old enough to date.
I e-mailed Nick's obituary to my aunt, Midge Lay who was married to my uncle, Wayne Maddix. We both live in Bonita Springs, Florida these days and she asks about you every now and then. (Tom and I are "snowbirds" dividing our time between Powell and Bonita Springs.)
Our prayers will be with you and your family during this most unhappy time. Sincerely, Joanne Foreman Kuhn

The Saint Charles Preparatory School community extends its deepest sympathies to the entire Savko Family. What a wonderful obituary to honor this fine father, patriot, benefactor and friend. The alcove and beautiful statues of Saint Joseph and the Blessed Virgin Mary leading into the student commons at Saint Charles are dedicated in Nick and Gilda's honor. Mr. Savko leaves a tremendous legacy and will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.

Steve, Sorry to hear of your fathers' passing. I remember Nick well. He was one of the first people I met when I came to Dublin. I will always remember his superb assistance back in the mid-seventies or so, when one of his employees became trapped in a piece of heavy equipment. Please accept our deepest condolences. So sorry to hear of Nick's passing. Polly Scurlock called and put a message onmy answering service as I have been in the hospital in Pgh, so I won't be able to attend the viewing and/or funeral. Anyhow Nick was related to us through my Mother who was his Aunt Helen Parkinson. Everytime I saw Nick over the years he was always so kind and made me feel like a member of the family. Deepest Sympathies, Phil Parkinson and family.
