Oscar J. Watson, age 89, passed away December 19, 2018. Memorial Celebration 12 noon, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at St. Philip Episcopal Church, 166 Woodland Ave., where his family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the start of service. I am saddened to learn of Oscar's passing only today. We met while working in Development at Ohio State and enjoyed an instant rapport and connection despite our many differences. We looked forward to celebrating our January/Capricorn birthdays together over lunch for many years.
My most heartfelt condolences to Oscar's family. He loved you all immensely and bragged about your accomplishments often. I hope your fond memories of him offer some measure of peace. Sending love and light...

Dear Glenna and family,
I just heard today of Oscar's transition.
I hadn't seen him in about a year but, I
remember fondly and with great respect our
conversations and healings together.
He was always generous with passing on his
wisdom and guidance. I am honored and feel
very blessed to have known Oscar...he was
a kind, honest, and uplifting soul...

To Oscar's wife and family,
I had the privilege of meeting Oscar when I worked at the Columbus Foundation in the 1990s. He was always encouraging and supportive of the foundation's work and quick to provide valuable feedback on new initiatives and ideas. He was truly a gentleman, a wonderful conversationalist, and a valued contributor to the betterment of this community. My deepest condolences to the Watson family.
