Patricia Bazler Obituary

Bazler Patricia Higdon Bazler, longtime resident of Clintonville, died on March 30, 2013 in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Pat is survived by her children, David, Edgewood, KY and Beth, Erving, MA; a daughter-in-law, Claire; and three grandchildren, Joseph and Megan Bazler and May Grzybowski. She was preceded in death by her longtime companion Dale Balser. Pat worked for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for many years, rising from the position of clerk-typist to Deputy Director of the Division of Watercraft. She was a devoted, member of P.E.O. for over 50 years, an organization whose mission is promoting educational opportunities for women. Another important part of Pat's life was volunteering at Riverside Hospital. She started as a volunteer in the nursery in 1984 and accrued over 4000 hours of service in different areas of the hospital before leaving Columbus to be closer to her daughter and granddaughter. One of Pat's great passions was music. She faithfully attended Jazz Arts Group concerts at both Battelle Memorial Auditorium and the Southern Theatre. A memorial and remembrance service will be held at North Broadway United Methodist Church, 48 E. North Broadway, on Saturday, May 11 at 11 a.m. Luncheon to follow. Pat requested that memorial donations be made to Cottey College, 1000 West Austin Blvd., Nevada, MO 64772-2790.
