I have too many memories too many memories to list of this great man. He meant so much to me as a young teenager as he did many other inner city kids. The first time I saw him i just wanted to ask him if freshman were going to condition with the rest of the team. He said yes get in line. At that time I was far from ready and not even dressed to run around that track but I didn't even question him. That was the beginning of a great relationship. Throughout my time at Linden Mckinley he was like a father to me. He was there to love me, push me, or give that kick in the behind if needed. He never settled for half effort and would push you to levels you would never think you could meet.
Every young man should have one man to look up to. Coach Hudson impacted many. He left something to everyone that came into contact with him. He left an impression on my brother and he never even played for him. He had a saying that he would say everyday in practice and I use it today:"Your burning daylight". He would say this when we were wasting time. He spent many years doing a great service to the inner city. I want to say thank you for helping mold me into the man i am today. You will be missed in the community. May God bless the Hudson family

We would like to express our heart felt sympathy in the passing of Paul. My husband Rickie has been the local Education Director for Waldorf Lodge #76 in Dayton, OH for the pass four years. He was always helpful, taking his time to talk with Rick about any questions he had concerning the rules, where to find information and attended his Local Oratorical Contests. We will miss his leadership and friendship.

My Dear Friend “Hud”,

There are no words to express how broken hearted I am, or how much I am going to miss you. You have been my friend since I was 17 years old, 33 years. I had the privilege of not only being one of your first female football managers as a student, but I also had your friendship all of my adult life. You called me the “keeper of secrets”, but you were the one who I could tell my secrets to. You taught me that a true friend is one who you can agree with, argue with, tell you when you’re wrong and still be your friend. Before I met you there was not one man that I cared about, but you helped me see the funny side of men and people in general. When I met Chris, I knew why you loved her so much. I’m glad she has been in your life and gave you two beautiful children who made you proud. You achieved so much in your lifetime which I’m sure has made your family very proud. I will miss our talks. I will miss making you laugh. I am honored to say that you are my friend and I know that we will see each other again.

Coach Hudson was a great motivator. I remember when I first went out for the wrestling. If it wasn't for Coach Hudson pushing me to do my best I would have gave before the season began. I was lucky enough to have him coached me for 2 years at Linden McKinley.

My prayers are with the family of Coach Hudson. He was and will always be remembered for being a caring individual. Most students that worked with him, knew this about him, and it might be a little late, but THANK YOU for all that you did do for all of the students lives that you helped to enrich. My first year of high school has been adored due to my time as a "manager" of the football team, and I will never forget those times, as they were the most revered in my high school years.

Paul Hudson “Leader and Head Coach”

Coach, when I played football for you I could not understand why you worked us so hard in practice, but as an adult I understand every moment of all of those practices. They have prepared me for every day I wakeup to face the world. Thanks for preparing me for life and all of its challenges.

To the Hudson Family;

There are no words to express the depths of my compassion. Those of us who had the honor of meeting Paul Hudson know what it is to meet a "real man". Coach Hudson was the same no matter when/where I ran into him. A straight shooting, no nonsense, frank talking man of character, and I was blessed to have shared a smile, a laugh, a joke and a word of encouragement from him.

"WELL DONE THY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT".....the world is an emptier place without you coach....

Coach Hudson,

From the first day that I met you, I stood in awe of your presence. I know that the world is a busy place and that we lost contact. I will never forget though the final words you gave to us as seniors as we walked out of that gym for the final time- "here is my phone number, and it will never change. When you need me just call." Those words rang true for the first few years after high school I called on you for recommendations for college and such. You were my first role model, the first man that I can recall that cared about my well being. Coach you once wrote in a recommendation letter, " he may not be the best athlete, but he'll give 110% in every endeavor." And Coach, I just want you to know that those words inspired me to give a 110% on every play in my life. I may not be where I want to be; but, thanks to you and God, I haven't given up yet.

I want to thank your family for lending you to us those long evenings and long weekends of travel. He helped make men out of everyone that he touched. I can honestly say that I am a better man for his presence in my life.

To The Hudson Family,

God looked around his garden
and saw an empty place.
He then looked down on earth,
and saw Paul's tired face.
He put his arms around him
and lifted him to rest.
God's garden must be a beautiful place,
He only takes the best.

He knew that he would never
get well on earth again.
He saw the road getting rough
and the hills hard to climb,
so he closed Paul's eyes
and whispered "Peace Be Thine".

Your loved one is with Jesus in a home that's filled with bliss. There are no tears in Heaven, no more heartache and no pain. Only Love and Happiness for all Eternity.

God Bless You.
