Paul Hurst Obituary

HURST Mr. Paul D. Hurst, age 66, of Powell, Ohio and formerly of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday December 4, 2007, at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Paul was born January 26, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio; son of Mrs. Marjorie (Kincaid) Hurst of Greenville, and the late Rev. John C. Hurst who died June 20, 2006. Paul was a school teacher for 36 years starting his career in the Union City, Indiana School System, then moving to the Greenville, Ohio School System retiring from there in the spring of 1999. Paul, in his retirement years spent 2 summers as a Park Ranger in the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, 1 season as an Interpreter at the L.B.J. National Park in Texas, and 5 seasons at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center in Montana. Paul was a graduate of Manchester College, Ball State University and a member of the Greenville Church of the Brethren. In addition to his mother, Paul is survived by his wife, Beverly A. (Wappes) Hurst of Powell, Ohio, whom he married on July 24, 1965; son, Timothy Paul Hurst of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Jennifer Hurst Webb and Rodney L. Webb of Columbus, Ohio; grandson, Braxton Paul Webb; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Charles Cupp of Thornville, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, John and Jeanne Hurst of Pensacola, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Paul's Life will be held Monday, December 10, 2007, at 3 p.m. at the Greenville Church of the Brethren, 421 Central Avenue, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Ron Sherck officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday following the Celebration of Life Service until 7 p.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Manchester College.
