Philip R. Drake, born July 18,1957 passed away on April 14, 2019. He is survived by his wife, brother, two sons, three daughters and seven grandchildren. After graduating from Ball State Phil would begin his career with 84 Lumber. Throughout his working life it was always the people who made it valuable. He loved 84's "family". He was a "land man" who covered thousands of miles throughout his life/ Always fascinated by life's offerings. Phil had many sides/the hockey player whose crossovers would make bystanders blush, the sportsman who brought his sons and sons-in-law shooting on Thanksgiving morning, the Porsche driver who acquired official racing status. His sense of humor was as dry as the desert. His true passion was his family. His family is blessed by his strength and kindness. A Memorial service will be held at The Northwest Presbyterian Church, 6400 Post Rd., Dublin, Ohio 43016, Thursday, 4/18/19 at 2:30 PM. I was just made aware of Phil's passing and wanted to express my sorrow to his wife, Family & friends. We were Members of Beta Theta Pi at Ball State & I lived with Phil for several month's my junior year. We had so many good times together including living with a skunk that he really enjoyed having around our house at BSU, only Phil! Bless you all on your continued journey of life & his passing makes us realize that we are to enjoy our days on this earth, like Phil always did because we are here for but a short time. I worked with Phil at Max & Erma's and had the opportunity to work with him again at Equity.
I fondly remember my chats with Phil on Monday mornings about his latest adventures. He was always kind to others and was great soul.
My prayers go out to his family at this difficult time.

I worked with/for Phil while at Equity as his administrative assistant. He was a great man with a huge personality. I always enjoyed his stories and his views on life. He will always hold a special place in my heart. The world will not be the same without him. My sincere condolences to his family at this difficult time. I met Phil when he came to work at Equity and spent lots of time with him over the years on road trips, etc.
Phil had a remarkable passion for life and lived it to the full. The stories he could tell of his unique and often nearly unbelievable experiences were seemingly without end. Phil had a huge heart for others and I feel extremely blessed to have had him as a friend / mentor over the years. He was truly one of a kind, was deeply loved, and will be greatly missed.

I worked with Phil for 10+ years, he was always willing to help anyone. Always had a big heart. I have a rocking chair in my bedroom he gave us when we had a first child. He will be missed.

I shared an office with Phil for several years and got to know him very well. Phil was one of my favorite people that I have ever met and I'm so saddened to hear about his passing. I will miss him very much. He was a good man.
