Phillip E. "Buggens" Balzer

Balzer Phillip E. "Buggens" Balzer, 61, of Chillicothe, died 4:23 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in Holzer Medical Center, Jackson, unexpectedly. He was born June 2, 1952, in Columbus, OH, to Dottie Almond Balzer. On January 30, 2004, he married the former JoAnn Garten, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, of N.C.; a son, Jeremiah Foos of Columbus; stepchildren, Hattie Garten of Sacramento, CA and Tammy (Randy) Blair of Kingston; grandchildren, Hope, Madison, and Jeremiah; eight step-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Hart, of N.C. He was predeceased by a brother Richard Balzer and a stepson Harl "Jimmy" Garten. Phillip served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was truck driver and a member of the Southeast Conservation Club of Columbus. There will be no funeral service of calling hours.
