Rachael Blankenship Obituary

Blankenship Rachael Leah (Polcyn) Blankenship, age 40, of Grove City, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 18, 2017. She was born January 5, 1977 in Gallipolis, Ohio. Rachael freely shared her time and sense of humor with those who needed them. Her employment with the American Red Cross offered her another outlet for making a difference in others' lives. She was preceded in death by her infant brothers Timothy and Adam. Rachael is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Tim Blankenship; parents, Daniel and Debra (Neal) Polcyn; siblings, Daniel Polcyn, Matt Polcyn, Paul (Erin) Polcyn, Nate Polcyn, and Thomas Polcyn; mother-in-law, Carolyn Blankenship; sister-in-law, Cathy Christian; and innumerable friends and family members. In accordance with her wishes, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to any charitable organization representing causes important to Rachael which include The American Red Cross, The American Humane Society, and Saint Jude Children's Research. My most heartfelt condolences to the entire family. Rachael was such a gem and undoubtedly she will be greatly missed. Her laugh and smile always brought comfort and her loving spirit was one of a kind.

We, the families of The Compassionate Friends, send you our heartfelt condolences. The
Compassionate Friends is an international grief support group for parents, grandparents and
siblings who have suffered the heartbreaking loss of a child. Our only mission is to provide
comfort, hope and support to every family experiencing the death of a son or daughter, brother or
sister or grandchild, and to help others better assist the grieving family. We meet monthly in
Columbus from 7-9 PM on the second Tuesday of each month at Ascension Lutheran Church
1479 Morse Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229. If and when you are ready to do so, please join us.
