Ray Seibert Obituary
SEIBERT Ray L. Seibert entered the Light on the 23rd of November, 2005 at the Manor of Whitehall nursing facility where he had been a resident since December 10, 2000. He was preceded in death by his parents Warren and Martha Seibert of Millersport, Ohio, his first wife Patsy Bell of New Lexington, Ohio, their son Paul D., and his loving second wife, companion and coworker of 34 years, Sally, a clairaudient medium. Ray is survived by a brother, Steve (Linda) of Ohio; three nieces; plus close friends, Bob and Patrice Gildnor, Ken and Wanda Walters, and Gabe and Joann Robinson. They have been there for him every minute of the night and day since Sally died in 1997, and before. Born during the depression near Spencer, West Virginia, his family moved to Millersport, Ohio in 1940. He later graduated from Hayesville High School, joined the military, became an instructor specialist and taught aviation electronics in the Naval Air Reserve during the Korean Conflict. His civilian career alternated between aerospace research and development and sales. He retired from Rockwell International in 1988. Ray became interested in UFO's in 1950 and because of his second wife's unusual talents he started investigating psychic phenomena in 1965. They both slowly became serious students of metaphysics. He studied with the Astara Foundation, the Mayan Order, The Philosophical Research Society and labored through the written works of the Rosicrucian Fellowship and the Scottish Rites of Free Masonry. He was initiated into Transcendental Meditation and Silva Mind Control, was a member of the Theosophical Society and served four terms as president of the local chapter. He was a member of the American Society for Psychical Research, collaborated with Kent State University on healing research, and served as a consultant to Mankind Research Unlimited in Washington D.C. Ray lectured at three local universities and offered various classes in psychic phenomena through the continuing education programs at Worthington School and Ohio State University. He and Sally founded a nonprofit research organization, Seibert's Center of Paranormal Energy Studies, Inc. (SCOPES). By invitation they shared their experiences and findings with several government agencies including two presidential committees, the Agriculture Department, the State Department, Congressional Aides and others who would never really identify their group or themselves. Inurnment is being handled by EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 4171 E. Livingston Ave. There will be no organized service. Instead of spending money on flowers, take a new friend out to dinner.
