Richard Andrews Obituary

ANDREWS Richard L. "Rick" Andrews Jr., age 50, of Delaware, died at home Sunday, March 2, 2008. Born March 29, 1957, in Delaware, to the late Richard L. "Dick" Andrews Sr. and Ruby (McCoy) Andrews. He attended Delaware Hayes High School and was a US Navy veteran. A member of Teamsters Local No 413, he worked as an over the road truck driver for Quality Carriers, dispatched out of Delaware. He thoroughly enjoyed trucking and being on the road. Mechanically inclined, weekends were spent mending his truck and assisting friends with their automobiles. He was most proud of his service to country, his son's, and being Grandpa Rick. A fan of NASCAR, he followed driver Mark Martin, faithfully attended the Indianapolis 500 and the Brown Jug activities during the Delaware County Fair. He was happiest riding his Harley Davidson Sportster or sitting around a campfire sharing stories and beverages with his many friends. Good hearted, he was helpful and a friend to everyone he came into contact with. Rick will be remembered for his big smile and kind heart. Survived by son, Richard D. "Rick" Andrews of Delaware; former wife, Laura (Noggle) Andrews of Ostrander; step-son, Jarrod (Megan) McCown of Delaware; granddaughter, Lilly McCown; step-mother, Hope Andrews of Delaware; step-father, Lee Tenney of Columbus; sister, Sheri Szabo of Columbus; step-brothers, Tim (Pam) Boggs of Delaware, Terry (Debbie) Boggs of Pataskala; step-sister, Rhonda (Otto) Farley of Milford Center; the mother of his son, Tammy Cooke of Delaware; aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of good friends.
