Richard J. Reichert, age 86, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018. Dick was born on April 8, 1932 in Cleveland, OH, to Gilbert and Irene Reichert. He was a resident of Worthington for 57 years and worked for The Catholic Diocese of Columbus. Dick served in the United States Army and is a Korean War Veteran. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris and Baby Girl Reichert. He will be greatly missed by his children, Rich (Jenny), Laura (Ray) Sanders, and Dan, 2 grandsons, Scott (Joan), and Steven, and 2 great-grandsons. The family will greet friends on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 2pm to 5pm at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High St. Worthington, OH 43085 with a prayer service at 4:45 pm and Military Honors to follow. Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 10 am at St Michael Church, 5750 N High St., Worthington, OH 43085. Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231. Condolences may be made to the family at www.rutherfordfuneralhome.com

I said a prayer today for Dick and Doris as I think of them every year at Christmas time when I reflect on the passing years. I met Dick and Doris while traveling on a bus tour of the Grand Canyon and surrounding areas, probably in the summer of 2000. While I lost touch over the years, I fondly recall my "adopted" grandfather and remember what a lovely time we all had on that trip, sharing meals and laughter, swapping stories and comparing photos as we visited the wonders God has created in this beautiful country. His artwork was lovely. I pray that your memories warm your hearts during the holiday season and throughout the years.

We are sorry to hear of the passing of your dad ,so sorry we can't be there for the service but want to let you know that you are all in our prayers. I still remember the good times we had with aunt Irene ,Gilbert and Dick when we were growing up.

Jeremiah 29:11, 12 assures us that God is thinking thoughts of peace towards us, to give us a future and a hope, and that if we come and pray to Him, He will listen to us.
