Robert Ryan

RYAN Robert Ryan passed into the arms of God Sunday, April 17, 2011 at the age of 88. Preceded in death by parents Howard and Jannie Ryan, and brothers Paul and Jack. Survived by wife of 64 years, Esther; children, Phillip (Jenifer), Lynda and Lois (Gary) Mayhew; grandsons, Jason and Joshua; two great-grandsons; and sister, Virginia Ryan MacCaughey. He served as Captain in U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II. Bob had been a Senior Vice President of Columbia Gas of Ohio; was on former Governor James A. Rhodes' Cabinet as Director of the Dept. of Energy; was president of his own Energy Consulting Firm. He was named an Outstanding Alumnus of the College of Engineering at The Ohio State University; is listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Engineering; served as president of The Pennsylvania Gas Association. A Celebration of His Life will be held at LINWORTH UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 7070 Bent Tree Blvd. (Corner of Federated Blvd.), Columbus, OH 43235 at 1 p.m. SUNDAY, MAY 1, 2011 with Rev.
