Robert W. "Bob" Snedden

Snedden Robert W. "Bob" Snedden, age 71, of Sunbury and formerly of Grove City died Sunday, May 28, 2017 due to complications of a March neck surgery. He was born in Streator, Illinois the son of the late Thomas Andrew and Virginia Faye (Davies) Snedden. Bob was a 1963 graduate of Pekin Community High School where he earned a basketball scholarship to Northwestern University. However, the pull to earn an honest day's wage was greater than the opportunity to play ball and Bob began his professional career. Until his retirement, he worked as a welding foreman for Lenox Industries in Columbus for 26 years. Bob was an avid Buckeye football fan, loved sail boating, and used to run marathons. He also coached his son's Big Walnut Youth Basketball team. He will be remembered as a very kind, loving, and caring man who was soft spoken and easy going. He will be missed by his wife and best friend of 24 years, Vickie Lynn (Chandler) Snedden; his son, Andrew Robert Snedden of Sunbury; step-daughter, Kandi Wunderlich and her husband Mark of Galloway; two grandchildren, Levi Phillips and Angela Isenhower; his sister, Patricia Snedden of Pekin, Illinois; and nieces and nephews from Illinois. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Donald Gene Snedden. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 3 p.m. at the DEVORE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 637 North State Route 61, Sunbury, Ohio 43074. Burial will follow at Sunbury Memorial Park.
