Robert Stone Obituary

Stone, Robert
You repeated this German Poem to me on our first year Anniversary.
You are mine, I am yours. Of that you can be sure. You are Locked In my heart Lost is the little key. You must always remain there.
Das Alltest Deutsche Gedicht. I have loved you from the time we met on a blind date in 1961. The years passed oh so quickly. The memories of youth, young love flood my mind. How can I begin to tell the story of our 57 years together. We are blessed with three sons who have wonderful spouses & a beautiful grandson. I will not say goodbye - for you will always be alive in my heart & soul. We will miss your presence that lighted up the day. I will see you in the morning sun and in the afternoon of day. The evening stars and moon forever illuminating the Love & Admiration I felt for you - my Hero, Soldier, Husband, Father. The tears flood my eyes of thoughts of not seeing you until we meet again my sweetheart. Your sons are the image of you and will brighten my day & night. I will hold on to that key until we meet again. Loving you always and forever, Catherine. Colonel Robert P. Stone, US ARMY (Ret), 73, passed away on Nov 5, 2018. He married his high-school sweetheart, Catherine (nee Fletcher) & loved being together 57 years. She was always his Special Love. To the family of COL Stone, I was his ADCSOPS when he served in the Headquarters of the 83 ARCOM. He was a fine officer but more so an outstanding gentleman. He was always mission first but never forgot his soldiers. I am proud to say that I was better able to serve the 83rd through COL Stone's leadership. He will be missed but his mark remains with many of us. Godspeed to all.

Thank You for the Great Memories and times we shared. Although our careers took us in different directions I will always remember our time in grade and high school. Taking the green Oldsmobile out on all the double dates with Cathy, Barb, you and me. What fun times we all had together. How can I ever forget the two of us being on the same wrestling team at St. Joe's and the challenging matches we had. The support we had for each other. So Many Great Memories. Rest In Peace My Friend.

Cathy, I will continue keep all of you in my prayers.
