Roger Moore Obituary

MOORE Roger L. Moore, age 72, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 26, 2012. Born on St. Patrick's Day 1939 to Homer and Ethel Burke Moore in Pike County Kentucky. Roger was a kind, generous and loving family man with a great enthusiasm for life and unique sense of humor. A graduate of Grove City High School Class of 1957. He served 3 years in the U. S. Navy. Received his B.A. Degree from Morehead State University, then attended the University of Cincinnati Graduate School. Roger had a passion for learning and reading throughout his lifetime by continuous formal education and daily library visits. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survived by his devoted and loved wife of 20 years, Diana; her daughter, Valerie (Paul) Finley; grandchildren, Drew, Asa, Alyssa and Austin; sisters, Lois Jones and Erma (Larry) Geddes; nephews, Dan and Allen Jones; niece, Renae Milligan; many other family and friends. Family will receive friends Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 4 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. at the MYERS-WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME, 587 Main Street in Groveport. Pastor Steve Bulen officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ohio Fuzzy Pawz, 426 Riva Ridge Road SW, Pataskala, OH 43062, who rescued his beloved Chloe.

Hi Diana,
Hope you are settling into the different situation and so sorry for the loss that you were closer to than any of us. I am sorry that I did not learn until recently or I would have communicated earlier --Roger was my dearest Buddy during HS and it was so uplifting to have been able to renew our aquaintance in recent years. God Bless and best wishes to all.

Dear Diana and family, Words cannot begin to express how sorry we are. Roger was the sweetest "leprechaun" that ever was born. He was a gentle Irishman with a heart of gold. His smile always brightened the world. He has followed that rainbow in the heavens and will be rewarded with his pot of Gold of eternal peace and happiness.
