Ross Contizano Obituary

Contizano Ross Contizano, 103, of Columbus, died Thursday, January 23, 2014. He was born November 21, 1910 in Columbus to the late Gaetano and Antonia Contizano. He was a 1928 graduate of Central High School and pursued a career in grocery management. Ross was a member of New England Lodge #4 F&AM, 32nd Degree Mason, Valley of Columbus AASR, Aladdin Shriners International, Royal Neighbors of America, Knights of Pythias and Order of Eastern Star #287. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren and cooking for family. Other interests included woodworking, fishing, boating, playing cards and traveling. Ross and his family had traveled to every state, Canada, Mexico and Europe. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife Helen Mae, his second wife Phyllis, his son Gary and six brothers and sisters. Ross is survived by brother, James (Kay) Contizano; daughters, Donna Mae Poston and Ruth Fink; grandchildren, Rick, Bill, Carol (Rich), Mike (Pam) and Steve (Cindy); eight great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, including his eldest niece, Mary Swartz. Family will receive friends Monday, January 27, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where a funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Andrew Hoover officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
