1931 - 2017
Ruth Rothschild, age 86, passed away on October 26, 2017. Preceded in death by her husband Ralph Rothschild, son Gary Rothschild and sister Hanna Adler. She is survived by daughter, Naomi (Rob) Cohen; son, Daniel Rothschild; grandchildren, Jonathan (Amanda) Cohen, Benjamin Cohen, Erin (Mike) Kaminski and Kara (Russell) Weidle; and great-grandchildren, Ariella Kaminski, Caden Kaminski and Madison Weidle; and dear friends, Carol Tenenbaum and Marlene Wolf. Ruth immigrated from Czechoslovakia in the late 1930s with her family and settled in Vineland, NJ where she eventually met Ralph. They moved to Washington DC in 1956 and Ruth was very active in her synagogue. In 1976, Ruth and Ralph moved to Columbus, Ohio where Ralph was employed by IBM. Ruth worked for Lazarus in the Accounts Payable Field and then became a volunteer at Mount Carmel East Hospital for many years. She was very active at Congregation Tifereth Israel. Funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, October 29 at the Epstein Memorial Chapel, 3232 E. Main St. Burial will be at New Tifereth Israel Cemetery. Shiva will be observed from 5-7 PM at the home of Naomi and Rob Cohen. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Zusman Hospice or Congregation Tifereth Israel. The memory of the righteous is for a blessing! Ruth Rothschild's memory will keep us warm as long as we live for her warmth never ends. Her love of all people and her love of learning, especially the learning that helped her become even more bound up with her Jewish heritage is a beacon by which we should all set our compasses!
Her family and friends find solace and comfort. May her soul be bound up in the bonds of life!
