Ruth Wesemeyer Obituary

Wesemeyer Ruth Clara (Bartter) Wesemeyer passed away on January 22, 2015 at the age of 91. She was born July 9, 1923 and grew up on the family farm in Columbia Station, Ohio. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1945 and on November 10, 1945 married Richard Wesemeyer (who predeceased her). For 27 years she was a school teacher in the Midview School System. Ruth lived in Grafton, OH for over 40 years, and after retirement moved to Naples, Florida, returning to Ohio each summer to visit her family and to attend the Chautauqua Institute at Lakeside, Ohio. In 2011 she moved to Wesley Glen Retirement Community in Columbus. Ruth is survived by brothers, Rowland Bartter of Naples, FL and Charles Bartter of Berea, OH; and by her sister, Helen Crocker of Bowling Green, KY; daughters, Susan Pumplin and Linda Pearce, both of Columbia, MD; son, Richard Wesemeyer of Grafton, OH; daughter, Wendy Wesemeyer of Columbus, OH; and son, Carl Wesemeyer of Grafton, OH; grandchildren, Elizabeth Steffke (deceased), Matthew and Timothy Pumplin, James and Susannah Pearce, Scott and Todd Wesemeyer, Kelly Wysocki, Jen Cheslik, Candice Vander Weerdt and Carlene Wesemeyer; great-grandchildren, Emily, Hannah and Madeline Steffke, Story Pumplin, Carson and Graeme Pearce, Ricki, Stanley and Eli Wesemeyer, Jasmine and Daisy Wesemeyer, Morgan and Chelsea Wysocki, Nora Cheslik, and Colin Vander Weerdt. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 7th at 2 p.m. at the Wesley Glen Retirement Community.

I shared Mrs Wesemeyers passing on a facebook group called i grew up in Grafton or went to Midview schools. There has been a huge out pouring of love.She was a great teacher and good friend to all of us.
