Samir was our beloved Ohio State water polo coach in the 1980s, and a great mentor and friend forever after to many of us. He excelled on so many levels, but his big heart, smile, and peaceful presence will be what I remember most, along with endless road trips and stories from our water polo matches. We love you Coach, Christa and family.

I feel privileged to have known Samir through the Central Ohioans for Peace. He had the kindest smile, sparkling eyes, and hugs for everyone. He was a true gentleman, who deeply cared about mutual understanding and tolerance between people of different cultures and religions. He was highly educated as well. Our community has lost a dear, dear member. My condolences to Christa, his family, and friends. RIP, dear one.
