Thomas Coady Obituary

COADY Thomas C. Coady, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011. He was born on August 20, 1938 to John and Helen Coady in Salem, Ohio. He attended the St. Charles Preparatory School and graduated from the Ohio State University College of Engineering in 1961 and The Ohio State University College of Law in 1964. He recently retired from the law firm of Porter Wright Morris & Arthur after 45 years. In recent years, Tom's practice focused primarily in the areas of business and banking law. He also headed the firm's Public Finance Group. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brother Nicholas. He leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Sue Stickel Coady; children, Patrice Coady, Colleen (David) Connor, Steve (Jill) Dorn, and Ted Coady; three grandchildren, Stacey and Shannon Dorn and Caitlin Connor; many special friends including long standing friendships in our bridge club and other social groups. He was a member of the Ohio State University Golf Club and had many faithful golfing buddies. Tom was a long time fan of The Ohio State University Basketball program. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2011 at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Blvd., Columbus, OH 43212. Reverend James M. Long officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the Ohio State University Golf Club, 3605 Tremont Rd., Columbus, OH 43221. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Charles Preparatory School, 2010 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43209, the Salvation Army of Central Ohio, 966 E. Main St., Columbus, OH 43205 or a charity of your choice. Please visit www.schoedinger.com to share a favorite memory of Tom. Arrangements entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL.
