Thomas Coverdale Obituary

COVERDALE Thomas R. Coverdale, age 58, Thursday, June 2, 2005, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Graduate of North High School. He started a career in printing with O.S.U. Print Shops where he began printing "The Lantern." Thomas and a group of friends lived in a cabin in the Colorado Rockies for 2 years. Then he moved to California where he worked for Tab Products, and became their plant manager in Turlock, CA. He was an avid fisherman, golfer and traveler. Preceded in death by parents, Wilfred and Irene; brothers, Fred A. and John Lee. Survived by brothers, David (Carol) and Steven; uncle, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 1-2:30 p.m., where a memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at SOUTHWICK-GOOD & FORTKAMP FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3100 N. High St. In lieu of flowers, contributions, if desired may be made to the charity of your choice. www.southwickfuneral.com.

My favorite memory of Tom was from a birthday party - my birthday fell during the Ohio State Fair. Tom and Steve dropped by on their way back from the fair. Tom hadn't known he was coming to a birthday party, but he presented me with a mug that I know he had bought for himself. It is one of my favorite mugs to this day - a heavy ceramic beer stein type mug and when I use it, I always see Tom as he was that day in the early '70s. I'll have a drink in it on Saturday, and toast his memory.
