Thomas J. "Sneekin" Heekin

Heekin Thomas J. "Sneekin" Heekin, 74, of Sedona, AZ, passed September 9, 2014. Tom passed away peacefully, surrounded by family after losing the struggle with liver disease. He is survived by his loving wife, Terrie of 51 years; son, Andrew Heekin, daughter-in-law, Jody, and granddaughter, Jordan of Springboro, OH; son, Matthew Heekin of Concord, CA, and JoAnn Horner; sister, Barbara Ritchie and Phil of Raleigh, NC; and sister, Mary Maureen Heekin of Cincinnati, OH. Tom was born in Columbus, OH, August 4, 1940 to Richard and Marian Heekin. He retired after 38 years as a VP of Worthington Industries and lived in Sedona since 2003. Tom was a man who never filled the air with empty words. He was a very humble and generous man who led and taught by example, not words. When he spoke, people listened. It was usually profound, accurate, or humorous - never offensive or argumentative. If he disagreed with you, you may never know. Tom loved spending time with his family boating and swimming at Lake Cumberland KY. He had a great love of music, photography, tennis, and reading. Plans will be made in the future for a memorial gathering in Sedona as well as Ohio.
