As someone who knew Tom on the West Side in the 1960s, it is interesting, but not surprising, to see the warm tributes to him in this Guest Book. He turned out to be exactly how he was as a teenager, bright, funny, supportive, and a wonderful teacher. He will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences to Merrily and the entire family.

Dear Robbins family,
Please accept my deepest sympathies. Mr. Robbins was my fourth grade teacher and middle school wrestling coach. I aplogize for the long passage to come but I'd like to share a few of my many memories of him.
- coaching me every night after school in 4th grade prior to an important wrestling tourney
- driving the Harts, Steve Newcomb, Mike Carey, Danny James,me and others to wrestling tournaments and camps for years
- feeding his pet boa constrictor after school
- success and a lot of fun on our middle school wrestling team
- Mr Robbins making my friends and me sit on side of the pool as punishment(many times) while he lifeguarded at the Worth. pool
- riding in his yellow Porsche
- his ageless appearance. 3 years ago, my brother and I were sitting in the nosebleed section of the south stands of OH Stadium. My brother who hadn't seen him in nearly 20 years, saw a blond man sitting in the west stands at the 35 yard line amongst the other 105,000 people there."Isn't that Mr. Robbins?" I looked in my binoculars and sure enough, it was.
He was a great teacher, coach and friend who was willing to give a tremendous amount of his time to others. We've lost a very special person.

Dear Robbins Family,

I was extremely sad to hear the news about the sudden death of Coach Robbins. You are in my prayers and I send my heartfelt sympathy. Tom will be sorely missed by all those whose lives he touched. He was such an important and positive influence on me, my teammates and his students. He taught us to work hard, believe in ourselves and do the right thing. As a grown man with children of my own, I realize the profound effect he had on my life and how fortunate I am to have had his leadership.

With affection and deepest condolences,

To the Robbins Family,

I was very sad to hear the news about Mr. Robbins. Mr. Robbins had a tremendous impact on so many kids as a teacher and a coach. I often think of all the time Mr. Robbins gave me and the other wrestlers as he packed us all up in his station wagon and drove us to wrestling tournaments all over Ohio. It’s been 28 years since he first introduced me to wrestling and I still have great memories and maintain friendships that are a direct result of all the time Mr. Robbins spent with us. On behalf of myself, Bob and Sean Hart, Steve Locklear, the Batemans, Andy Quillin, Mike Carey and all the other students and wrestlers at Brookside and Perry, we would like to thank Mr. Robbins and give our sincere condolences to Mr. Robbins family.

Linda, Our prayers are with you and your family at this sad time. Our kids, Katie and Nick both enjoyed time with Tom as their teacher at Liberty. I remember our many chats (at Dr. Stemple's office)while I was expecting the kids and we'd talk about Tom being a teacher and how much he enjoyed being with the kids, so I am glad our oldest two got a chance to enjoy his excitement of teaching. I'll never forget his smile in the halls of Liberty and your kindness through our many chats as our family grew in number. You are in my thoughts and the hearts of many Liberty families...God Bless!
