We appreciate all the comments being made about Tim.

I met Tim on the first day of junior high school. We hit it off right away and remained good friends throughout junior high and high school.

The three Tims, Jim and Chuck shared many happy times growing up - sleepovers, concerts, our ridiculously uncoordinated intramural basketball teams, trying to get girls to like us. Our group was together all the time.

Tim and I lost touch as time wore on, but I've thought of him and my other friends often. I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Tim was a good friend. He sat next to me for about 5 years at work and we managed to go out to lunch together most of the time. Tim and I had a lot in common including attendance at the same University (OSU), same engineering group, and an enthusiasm for OSU football. I will miss his sense of humor (a little off beat), his engineering support, and his good friendship. He will be truly missed. Roy Booth

I returned home today after a trip to learn of Tim’s passing. I am so very saddened by this event.

It saddens me that I lost touch with Tim. Growing up through my teen years with the “Tims” and Chuck I doubt that any of us considered that we would drift so far apart. All of these men were great, great friends. Tim Hatten was one of the most intelligent people I ever met and yet he could be goofy. He could be one of the most serious people and yet would laugh uproariously with all of us over nothing. He was fun to be around.

I am sorry that I did not know he was ill and did not give him the brotherly love and friendship that he was entitled to.

My prayers and condolences go out to his family and friends.

I am lucky to have known Tim since the 7th grade and we shared many wonderful times together! A highlight was our trip to Cincinnati to see Aerosmith & REO Speedwagon. Our many sleepovers with Tim, Tim, Tim, Jim, and Chuck will always be in my memories!

My mom enjoyed a laugh when Tim and Tim Huneck would come to visit and she would say "Tim" and we all would reply.

Those of you that knew Tim were aware of how conservative he was. Well, on his visit to our home in Vermont my wife Kathy and I took him on a hike across the border into Canada. This made him very nervous, which amused Kathy and I.

Unfortunately, Tim and I haven't communicated much since the Bush-Gore recount, which put us at odds to one another. Tim was a fine man and a great friend!

Tim was a delightful person to work with and to know. Having the good fortune of having him in my life is truly a blessing.
God bless you all in your time of sorrow.

I am Tim's sister-in-law (married to Steve). Thank you all for your comments. It is particularly nice to hear about Tim's college days from his fraternity brothers and about his career at Lockheed Martin from so many dear friends.

To Jim, Tim had a Diesel Jetta most recently, but has not had to contend with much snow in Texas!

To Gary, I miss that belly laugh too, though sometimes I catch a hint of it in Steve's laugh!

Bill Arbegast and the Advanced Materials Processing Center here at SD School of Mines and Technology wish to give our condolences to Tim's family, mother, brother, and sister. Bill and Tim knew each other for many years when Bill worked for Lockheed Martin and later came to SDSMT. Bill considered Tim a good friend and they always had a lot to talk about.

To My Very Good Friend Terri, and her family ~
I am so very sorry for the loss of your Brother Tim. I did not know Tim, but I knew what a wonderful person he was from everything Terri has told me, and how long he suffered his battle with Lymphocytic Leukemia.
My condolences to you, Terri, Michael, Daniel, Tony, Mary Jane, and to all of Tim family.

I am very saddened to hear of Tim's passsing. I was in the Delta Upsilon fraternity with Tim at Ohio State. He was always in a cheerful mood, and gave off a very sincere personality. It was my privilege to know Tim, and I will always remember him.

I worked with Tim and miss him already. I have wanted to call him or get his input on several issues and as I reach for the phone I realize his advice is no longer available to me. But more than his advice I miss his presence as a caring gentle human being. And I miss that corny sense of humor and that belly laugh. I extend my sympathy to the family as I can only imagine your loss.

Tim was a classmate of mine at Ohio State University. He was always a good man of integrity who did his best and reached out to others with his friendship. His friendship and expertise will be missed greatly. My condolences to all of his family and friends. Through all the tears, may you always find joy in the wonderful memories that you made together with him. God bless you all!

Please accept my sincerst sympathy at the loss of Tim. I was a fraternity brother of Tim's at Ohio State. I am many fond memories of Tim. I rode with him to Florida on spring break one year. He had just purchased his Diesel VW (Rabbit) which he took very good care of. Mac Roberts and Tom Widney rode in Tom's car. We caravaned together and got stuck in an ice storm in the mountains. Mac and I took turns pushing Tim and Tom's car thru the log jam of cars. Eventually we made it into the sunshine state and had a legendary week. Tim was a truly great guy.
