Timothy Bovie Moritz

MORITZ Timothy Bovie Moritz, 73, died July 19, 2010 of pancreatic cancer. Born July 26, 1936 to Elisabeth Morgan and Charles R. Moritz. Graduate of Columbus North High School Class of 1954 and The Ohio State University where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and University of Cornell Medical College. Dr Moritz was with the National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, MD and the Community Mental Health Center in Rockland County, NY. He was Director of Mental Health for the State of Ohio from 1975-1981. The State of Ohio recognized his contributions to the mental health community by re-naming its Central Ohio Psychiatric hospital as "The Timothy B. Moritz Forensic Psychiatric Hospital". Since 1983 he has been in the private practice of psychiatry in Las Vegas, NV. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Michael E. Moritz. He is survived by his wife, Antoinette (Toni); daughters, Lisa (Stephen) Moss, of Dover, MA, Laura (Steven) Tresca, of Newton, MA, and Stephanie Lysbeth; and son, David Michael, of Las Vegas; brothers, Dr Roger (Suzan) Moritz, of Eaton, OH, and Jeffrey (Sandy) Moritz, of Rohnert Park, CA; grandchildren, James and Lucy Moss, and Thomas, Katie and Philip Tresca; sister-in-law, Lou Ann Moritz (Buss) Ransom, of Columbus , OH. Box 5851, Incline Village, NV, for research on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome A memorial service will be held in Columbus, OH at a future date.
