Man, I can't believe it's been a year already. Things have been so different (in our lil circle) without you. I miss your lil pimp walk and how you always used to say "chyeaa!"...me and rodney were laughing about that the other day. It's still so un-real to me right now. Maybe i'll accept it someday but this is not the day. I thank you tre for all the love you've shown our family over the last almost 20 years. To keep a friend that long is golden...and that's what you are to us...golden (skin color and all! lol~!). To your mom...let the lord guide you through these times. Even though it has been months it is still fresh. I can't imagine what you must be going through..as a mother.....i am so sorry for you, him, and my family. Tre is a special part of our family and always will be. He was definitely one of a kind..too cool for words!lol!....but always remember, the lord will see you through this and tre is not gone...just waiting, that's all...just waiting for us to come home with him. I love you tre and we miss you dearly.....god will be the judge of all and he knows all...no worries...you're in our hearts, mind, and conversation..forever.

My fears are now confirmed. I met Tre in 1989 in Las Vegas and we periodically kept in touch. We lost communication and as I was trying to reconnect, I was shocked to learn of his untimely passing. I will always remember him. I pray that hope and peace is restored in the hearts of his family.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
