Victoria Strauss Obituary

Strauss, Victoria
Victoria Lee Zoé Strauss, age 23, of Worthington, Ohio, passed away tragically Monday, January 18, 2021. Victoria was a beloved daughter, sister, cousin and friend. Those closest to Victoria describe her as vibrant, energetic, beautiful, caring and funny, with a proficient talent she most freely expressed through dance. From the moment Victoria could walk, all she wanted to do was express herself through movement. She spent her adolescence dancing at several studios in the Powell area. She competed throughout the country and eventually earned a spot on the Florida Atlantic University Fly Girls dance team. She was voted upon by her peers and named captain her senior year. Victoria was a 2015 graduate of Linworth Alternative School and received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Florida Atlantic University. She would have received a master's degree in social work from The Ohio State University this spring. To say that Victoria danced through life is an understatement. She shared a passion, joy, dedication, and love with those around her. Victoria was a force of light and life, deeply loved by her family, her friends, and her pets, Frank, Sinatra, Callie, and Alley. A member of Powell United Methodist Church, Victoria led a life grounded in faith and her relationship with God gave her the strength and focus to pursue a full life. Health and wellness were other passions that were central to her life. She found great joy in helping clients and friends achieve their fitness and nutrition goals. She did this privately as well as alongside her teammates at Orange Theory. These experiences, paired with her extensive education, were the driving forces in her vision of eventually creating a Women's Wellness Center. Born May 7, 1997, Victoria was adopted from Romania and upon her arrival on November 18, 1998 to the United States, she was immediately adored by her family and relatives. Her time away from the dance floor was dedicated to bringing joy and laughter to all who knew her and spending cherished time with her loving family. Victoria was preceded in death by her father Dr. Gerald "Jerry" Strauss, her maternal grandmother Bonnie Hall, a cousin Bryan Yoder, her paternal grandparents Dr. Gerald and Virginia Strauss and an aunt Judy Fown. She is survived by her mother, Susie Hall Strauss; her brother, Gerald "Jerry" Strauss Jr.; her grandfather, James Hall; her uncles, Steve (Karen) Hall and Don Fown; her aunt, Sandy (Roger) Yoder; and many cousins and other relatives. Funeral services will be held 10am Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Powell United Methodist Church, where the family will receive friends following the service. Pastor Katya Brodbeck will officiate. Please join the family in celebrating Victoria's life while keeping pandemic restrictions in mind. Due to the limited space connected to the public health concerns, people are invited to watch the service online as it will be live-streamed.
