1934 - 2018
Willa Dee Glaskin, age 84, longtime resident of Buckeye Lake, Ohio, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018. Willa grew up in West Union, Ohio, raised by the late Glenn and Wilma Messer. Also preceded in death by siblings Don Pyle, Zola Roush, Johnny Pyle, Elizabeth Moore, and Kathryn Kinner. Willa retired from the Federal Reserve Bank in the '80's. Willa loved sailing and enjoyed time spent boating on both Lake Erie and Buckeye Lake. It was that love that led her to settle at Buckeye Lake during her retirement. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends on her pontoon boat and was a member of various Buckeye Lake Civic Associations. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards and was an OSU Buckeye fan. She will be greatly missed by her loving children, Dawn Glaskin, Juli (Barry Cooperider) Glaskin, and Robyn (Charlie) Wilkinson; granddaughter, Rachel Wilkinson; and other extended family members and dear friends. A memorial service celebrating Willa's life will begin at 4 P.M. Thursday, October 25, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where family will receive friends and a reception will be held immediately following service until 7:30 P.M. Willie was a founding member of our card club that has met for over 20 years--she was such a joy. So many fond memories of our time together at Buckeye Lake.
