Like Vance Walden below, I served with Bill at USMA Prep. He was a great guy and always pleasant to be around. I remember a debate we got into once about how much oil there was in the world. Bill assured us that (in 1973)there was much more than anyone would admit. He was right! Wish I had caught up with him before now, but just got the news. My deepest sympathy...

It's been since 1972 when I last saw Bill as we departed our ways after we graduated from West Point Prep. In researching his name in the early morning hours, I discovered his passing and certainly was so deeply saddened at his leaving us so soon, but so happy that even after all these years, I know Bill knew the Lord as he was a great roommate with a compassionate, kind and generous nature. He loved humor and the year was certainly more enjoyable having him as a really good friend. So glad that I could add my thoughts to this guest book, but I am sure you know that there so many others out here that feel the same that so many of you shared on these pages.

Only recently did I hear about Bill's passing. I was a classmate at WHS and remember him fondly from Chemistry class and the wonderful athlete he was. God Bless your family.

I am so very sorry to learn of Bill's death. He was a tremendous young man throughout our high school years together - I am certain that he continued to be so throughout his life as son, brother, husband and father. My deepest sympathy to all.

Julie and family,
I cannot add much to the memories shared here. Bill was always a friend. Since high school, whenever I saw him he was quick with a warm smile, a hearty handshake, and an encouraging word. He touched our lives in a very positive way. He was an example to me.

I still remember the first time i met Bill. While sitting in the kitchen with chelsea he walked in told me a joke, smiled and shook my hand. I spent alot of time with the Atha family and built a great relationship with Bill. The Atha family will always be a part of family. Love you all. Bill, you will be missed.

My sister passed along the news of Bill's death earlier today. I was friends with Bill from the time the family moved to Worthington (1967?) until we graduated from high school. Beyond being extremely bright and athletic bill was one of the most polite, humble, unassuming, and kind people I have ever met. I remember everything about his fantastic personality to this day. Although we lost track of each other after high school I'm sure all his family members and friends feel as fortunate as I do to have met him in my life.

A wonderful young man, gone to soon! I always admired his modesty and grace when we were in high school. I have not seen "Billy" in many years and am saddened to hear of his passing. With deepest sympathy
Bill was a good friend to me. When I moved to Worthington from Detroit Mi. he accepted me as a newcommer to a well established athletic family. Even though I was a year younger Bill helped me navigate the new system I was exposed to. Bill was an exceptional athlete. His father Howard and my dad Stan used to cheer wildly at basketball games as they watched their son's perform. "Whomp em" would echo through the gym as Bill and I would hear with embarassed grins. Bill was a friend and a great teammate. He will be missed. God bless his family who mourn his loss with so many of us.

Bill was a great guy, I am really good friends with Steven and have alawys been over there the seen Bill, Julie, McKenzie and Steven. I remember every time I went over there Bill had a new joke to tell me which bright a smile to my face. I really hated to see this happen to Bill, he was like a second father and julie was like a second mother :)) I always felt welcome over there!!

Bill was one of a kind. He loved his family and friends and had a great sense of humor. He loved his Buckeyes. I will not forget how he called everyone "Boss". Nor will I forget what an incredible athlete he was and all the summers my wife and I played Westerville Co-Rec softball with his wife Julie and all their friends. We will all miss him dearly.
