I knew Bookie, Aquinas College High School class of 1941, as a family friend all my life over 72 years. We always called him Bookie and it was not until 10 years ago that I found out his given first name was "William". A great guy who always told interesting stories about Aquinas, Scared Heart and Days gone by. I never found out just how this loveable Irishman got the name "Bookie'. I still picture him with a big smile on his face enjoying a cigar and having a cold beer . My condolences to his family May he rest in peace.
