William Fauth Obituary

Fauth William W. Fauth, 94, died in Miami, FL on November 23, 2016. He was born in Columbus, OH, the son of William D. Fauth and Georgia M. Fauth. He was a 1940 graduate of Grandview Heights High School. While attending the Citadel in Charleston, SC, he learned to fly and became a civilian flight instructor during WWII. He joined the Army Air Corps as a pilot/flight instructor and transitioned to the Air Force when it was formed. He flew aircraft for Lane Aviation and the Abel Corp. of Columbus. He moved to Miami and flew cargo aircraft into the Caribbean and Central and South America, even doing a stint in Cambodia during the Khmer Uprising in the '70s. He also flew corporate aircraft for personal owners. In 50+ years of flying, he accumulated over 27,000 hours. In addition to his wife, Ann Skeffington Fauth; he is survived by his daughter, Leslie M. Woodruff of Columbus; his son, William D. Fauth, II of Mexico Beach, FL; his sister, Margaret Fauth of Columbus; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
