William Mitchell Obituary

MITCHELL William B. Mitchell, of Columbus, entered eternal light, Monday, November 3, 2008. He was born March 5, 1958 in Columbus to Walter and Ruth, who both preceded him in death. He is survived by brothers, Josey and Jon; sister, Nanette, all of Columbus; many nieces and nephews; and goddaughter, Isabella Whitt. Bill is also survived by a spiritual family who were blessed to know him, Alice Maczka, Lynn (Joseph) Weinstock, Barbara Wheat, Kelly Bowman, Kathy Yelverton Simms, Vickey McVay, Joan Probaska, Wanda Douglas, as well as countless wonderful and loving friends whose lives he touched in amazing ways. Bill was a legendary clairvoyant, seer and master spiritual teacher, who devoted over 30 years of his life to private consultation, teaching, special appearances, spreading understanding of the mysteries of the metaphysical world and providing spiritual guidance to the terminally ill. Noted for his generous support of numerous charities, including St Jude Chidren's Hospital and CATF; he will be remembered for his dazzling humor and comedic relief, his love of the artistic world and the ability to uplift the lives of those who knew him with his generosity and kindness. Bill's wish to those around him has always been "May the Grace of Angels Follow You Always". He is with the angels now and will be forever with us in spirit. A celebration of life memorial will be held at the Unity Church of Christianity, 4211 Maize Rd., Columbus, OH 43224, 2 p.m. Saturday, November 15. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for Bill's expenses to Lifestyles, 933 High St., Suite 120 A, Worthington, OH 43085. Hi Bill ~ You came to my thoughts again today. I realized I had never written here.... cannot help but wonder what you would think of your Online Guest Book. I hope you know how very much your work, your help, your life inspired so many of us. I had just come to know you personally when it was time for you to go Home. Sending you Light, and remembering with fondness and gratitude sharing time with you. I know you heard this often; "You were right!" Trusting Bill's family and loved ones are living in abundance. Thank you so much.

I was looking for Bills website to schedule a reading only to find he had passed!! Bill was such an amazing psychic...I feel kind of lost without having the opportunity to benefit from his AMAZING abilities. I know that, for him to pass so soon, that his work here was complete and now he has another mission to embark on. God Bless your wonderful spirit Bill Mitchell. I will never forget your guidance and inspiration. May your heart be light

I could not believe my eyes when I went to Bill's website! I am so sad, yet so blessed that I knew Bill. He was such a spiritual and wonderful human being, and I will never forget him. I am honored that I had the pleasure of meeting Bill during the loss of a dear friend some years ago, and then re-connecting with him as my spritual guide. Keep a watch over all of us Bill!

Dearest Friends of Bill,
Here was a man who worked hard to bring us each peace and guidance. His love for others was always evident. He helped me with readings for over 12 years. He made me laugh and let me cry. His sense of humor is what I will miss the most. I do believe he was a man of color in a past life, he saw the world similar to Bill Cosby. He gave us much and made our lives richer.
Go Bill!

Were a star quenched on high,
For ages would its light,
Still travelling downward from the sky,
Shine on our mortal sight.
So when a great man dies,
For years beyond our ken,
The light he leaves behind him lies
Upon the paths of men.
HWL

Bill,
You are the light for generations to come. My mother and I have so many blessings in our lives from knowing you and feeling the love you had for all mankind. You live on in all of us and we are so thanful for that.

I imagine it went down something like this: The Light shines into Bill's bedroom and Bill turns over and groans "Hey, can you turn that down a bit - I'm trying to sleep."
Then a melodic voice calls out "William.... your time has come. Step now, through the curtain please".
Bill sleepily sits up in bed, rubbing his half-closed eyes, and cracks "Now? You've got to be kidding me! I have several appointments and a seance tomorrow, not to mention the movie I've waited months to see..."
That was my favorite thing about Bill - his refreshing, no-holds-barred, wonderfully witty sense of humor!
And now, I can't imagine my world without Bill Mitchell.
We weren't personal friends - I had several readings from him over the past 15 years or so. Still - nobody "KNEW" me like Bill did. He could look beyond the physicality and know you better than you know yourself - and in doing so, wipe away a lifetime of doubt or confusion, clear up a mystery, answer questions not found elsewhere, and bring peace to a troubled heart. He even acted as a messenger for your departed loved ones, thus giving them the chance to clear up misunderstandings, or to say "I love you", or "I'm sorry" or to explain the circumstances of their passing.
You may come upon other gifted seers, (though few in his league), but there is no one who could take his place - who can duplicate his wit, express his unique personality, touch so many hearts and souls in the inimitable manner of our beloved Bill Mitchell.
Bill, I hope you are having a ball entertaining the folks on the Other Side; they are so lucky to have your company! To Bill's family and friends, may you find comfort in the knowledge that he will undoubtedly be close by whenever you think of him, miss him, and when he has something he wishes to convey - even if it's just to (say) "I'm here, and I love you".

To the family and friends of Bill,

We have lost a true friend, mentor, teacher, and angel on earth. Bill had such an open heart and was so generous with his soul. I know I will never know anyone close to being the kind of person he was. His persona alone was unforgettable and after you got to know him he was truely an unforgetable person.
He will be missed until it is our turn and then, I am sure, he will meet us with open arms.
Thank you Bill for all you did and will continue to do, blessings.

Bill had done many readings over the years for both my late husband and myself. I always knew that time spent with him was blessed. I spent time with Bill on Monday for a reading and couldn't believe when I learned of his passing. His loss to us earthbound is enormous but the gifts he left us are bigger! I know in my heart that we will meet again - I believe all angels return home. God bless you Bill

It has been a privelege to work with you in unraveling the mysteries, Bill, and I was honored that you remembered me and my name when our paths would cross. Thank you for your help in understanding how previous lifetimes carry on in this life. Thank you forever, for your communication at your last seance, that connected me with my deceased mother. Those few wonderful words that she gave you to give to me, wonderfully changed my relationship with her forever! There are no words to describe all the good you have done in your all too short time with us. I love you, I look forward to seeing you on the other side. Bob Talbott

I have only had one reading from Bill, last March, but I wanted to do it for many years. He wanted me to call and set up an appointment with him for him to start mentoring me. I never got around to it. I promised myself and my family that I would do this the beginning of the year. Oh how I wish I would have never put that call off. My greatest sympathies goes out to all of us whose lives he has touched. Bill thank you for all the love and wisdom you have shared,it will always go on. We will all see you again someday.
With my greatest respect.

As you go through life meeting people you may not realize what the meeting meant, but in Bill's passing I now understand clearer what meeting my fellow Piscean meant to me. Even though our conversations were not long, they were enough. My last conversation with Bill was at the ULE and we discovered we had the same Birthday but not the same year. I will miss him and the opportunty to have established an in depth friendship, go well Bill, I will think of you often.

I love and miss you very much Bill. Thank you for sharing your spiritual gift with me and my mother for the past two years. Without your encouragement and dedication to teaching me, I would not have realized my mediumship skills, and would not be where I am today. Thank you for the wisdom and guidance you have shared. It will be hard to continue this journey without you, but I will work hard and continue to make you proud of my accomplishments.

Dear Joe, Jon, Nanette, Aunt Mary, Kim, Linda & other family members:

Please accept my sincerest sympathies over the loss of your very "special" Billy Mitchell. He truly was a precious gift from above to all he met. I think of Bill as a miracle worker who gave those in despair - Hope, those who were lost and alone - Love, and those who could not find it - Friendship. Bill's office is receiving an abundance of calls and email communications as people share their grief, appreciation, and wonderous stories about their personal relationships with this man who empowered and enriched their lives.

On behalf of his clients and friends, we all are both blessed and grateful to have known Bill Mitchell. To say he will be missed is an understatement as in our hearts and minds Bill was larger than life itself.
