Willow Mitchell Obituary

MITCHELL-HOOKER Willow Mae Mitchell, 77. Sunrise March 18, 1933 - Sunset March 12, 2011. She was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Janie and Asa T. Featherstone, Sr. She worked various jobs including beautician and cook but is most remember for working with Concerned Parents of Greater Linden Area and being a Community Activist working with St. Stephens Community Center. Along with her parents, Willow was preceded in death by husbands Charles A. Mitchell, Sr. and Raeford E. Hooker and sisters Anna Ruth Poindexter and Shirley Butts. Left to cherish her memory, daughters, Crystal Jones, Cynthia (Derrick) Ward and Alysia Underwood; sons, Charles (Paulette) Mitchell Jr., Raeford Mitchell, Martin Mitchell, William Hooker and Ralph Carter; brother, Asa Turner (Karen) Featherstone, Jr.; sister, Maxine Stephens; and a host of grandchildren, great-grand-children, other relatives and friends. Visitation 9 a.m. and Funeral 10 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at House of God Church, 1428 E. 18th Ave. Interment at Evergreen Burial Park. Arrangements entrusted to MARLAN J.
