Zelma Adkins-Bennett Obituary

ADKINS-BENNETT Zelma Adkins-Bennett, age 75, of Baltimore, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. She was born April 20, 1934 in Sciotoville, OH, daughter of the late Harry C. and Dorothy (Alexander) Adkins. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Bertie Riley. She is survived by her children, Rebecca (Gill) Mixon, of Baton Rouge, LA, Fred Bennett of Columbus, Sharon Bennett of Trenton, OH and Phillip (Amber) Bennett of Columbus; grandchildren, Eve, Heather, Sam and Alex; great-grandson, Ethan; brothers, Harry Adkins of Portsmouth and Stanley Adkins of Sciotoville; sisters, Anna (Arturo) Cardenas of Portsmouth and Bonnie Perdue of Marietta, GA; special Love, Gene Pegg of Baltimore. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 25, 2010 at Community United Methodist Church, 120 N. Pickaway St., Circleville, with Pastor Barry Burns officiating. Interment to follow at Memorial Burial Park, Wheelersburg, OH. Family will receive friends from 1-5 p.m., Sunday at DEFENBAUGH-WISE-SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, 151 E. Main St., Circleville and 2 hours prior to the service Monday at the church. I was saddened to hear of Zelma's passing. She will be sorely missed by all of her family and her many friends. Darline, Zelma and I had met for lunch a while back and I meant to keep in touch and have lunch again but time slipped away. I am sorry that I let that happen. I wish to express my heart felt sympathy to all of Zelma's family and friends. The Minford Class of 1952 lost a wonderful classmate and friend. God Bless.
