Bobby Hugh Aldridge, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and steadfast man of faith, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, at the Landmark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Booneville.
Born on January 11, 1936, in Baldwyn, Mississippi, Bobby was the son of Hugh Milton Aldridge and Corrie (Ashmore) Aldridge. He was one of five children - James Milton, Ruby Pauline Johnson, Benjamin Franklin ("Frank"), and Charlie Bruce ("Bruce") - all of whom preceded him in death.
Bobby was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was married for over 52 years to his beloved wife, Glenda Dale (Wheeler) Aldridge, with whom he built a life filled with love and faith. Together they raised two sons, Ricky Dale (Susan) and Christopher Hugh (Julie), who were the pride of his life. After Glenda's passing, Bobby was blessed to find companionship again and shared 12 wonderful years with his wife, Clara Jeannette (Shackelford) Aldridge who survives him. He is also survived by his step-daughters, Linda Shackelford (Jesse), Amy Morris (Mark) and Michelle Barkley (Trent) and his daughter-in-law, Angelia Shackelford. He was also preceded in death by his step-son, Matt Shackelford.
Bobby is also survived by six grandchildren -- Jennifer Guy (Gary), Kristin Aldridge, Zachary Hugh Aldridge, Gavin Aldridge (Natalie), Ryan Aldridge, and Caden Aldridge - and two great-granddaughters, Grace Guy and Olivia Guy. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren who will remember his humor, stories, and steady presence.
A lifelong Mississippian, Bobby spent over 36 years as a resident of Verona, where he served his community with pride as a member of the Board of Alderman and was active in local politics. His faith was the foundation of his life, he was a devoted member and deacon of Verona Baptist Church and a lifelong member/deacon of Ingram Baptist Church.
Bobby retired from the Rockwell/Delta Power Tool Division, but he never truly "retired" from the work he loved most - being outside, hunting, fishing, and sharing his time and wisdom with his family. He had a passion for collecting pocket knives and antique glass. Above all, Bobby's greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren. His happiest days were spent outside, riding tractors with his grandsons, or tending to his beautiful garden.
Those who knew Bobby will remember his easy smile, his steady faith and generosity. He lived a life full of purpose. He was a godly man whose hands worked hard and whose faith never wavered. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and forever remembered for the life he built, the family he loved, and the example he set.
Funeral services will be held at Kesler Funeral Home in Baldwyn on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 12 pm with Bro. Kelly Carmichael officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee-Memorial Park in Verona. Visitation will be 10-12 Friday in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Zachary, Ryan, Caden, Joel, Mark & Gavin Aldridge, Phil Wheeler, John Ligon and Gary Guy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sonshine Christian Camp.
