Clarence Conway

1953 - 2023

Surrounded by family, Clarence Ray Conway, peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on October 28, 2023 after an extended illness.

Ray was born February 25, 1953, in Holland, Michigan to Roy and Audrey Wilson Conway. Ray attended Smithville High School Smithville, MS, (1967-1970) and Hollywood Hills High School Hollywood, Fl. (1971-graduated) where he played football and ran track.

Ray worked at Rockwell/Delta International for many years before moving to Evening Shade, Arkansas where he drove a semi truck for his father at Conway Sawmill. Ray was an avid sportsman and loved hunting and fishing everything from deer and turkey to deep sea and crappie fishing. But most of all, Ray loved his family and loved God.

Ray was proceeded in death by his father and brothers, Johnny and Tommy Conway. He is survived in life by his wife Wanda Conway of 38 years; sons: Michael (Jessica) Conway- Tupelo, MS, Kevin (Denise) Conway- Evening Shade, AR, Bob (Pam) Robinson- Pontotoc, MS, Adam (Abbi) Robinson-Center Township, PA; daughters: Karen (Dan) Swan and Sandra (Rodney) Weeden of Pontotoc, MS, Penny Duncan (Chad)- Iuka, MS; mother, Audrey Conway- Evening Shade, AR; sisters Barbara (Mike) Leech- Franklin, TN, Carrie (Roger) Herrington and Glenda (John) Miller- Evening Shade, AR; grandchildren, Lucas, Lainie, and Haven Conway- Tupelo, MS, Deidra and Morgan- Evening Shade, AR, Dominic and Candace- Pontotoc, MS, Kelsey and Ainsley- Center Township, PA, Tabitha and Dana- Pontotoc, MS, Kayla, Hannah, and Brianna- Pontotoc, MS, Chasity, Charity, and Zack- Iuka, MS. and a host of relatives and close friends.

Ray donated his body to science to further benefit humanity. There will be a celebration of life scheduled at a future date.
